Green Mountain
Recognized by State as "School of Distinction" AGAIN!!
State School Supt. Terry Bergeson
applauds Green Mountain School as one of 26 “amazing” schools in
Washington State.
Green Mountain
School has been named one of 26 “Schools of Distinction” by the Office
of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) that have won the award
for two years running for
on-going improvements in student reading and mathematics over the past
several years. There are over 2600 schools in Washington.
Dr. Grubbs noted: "We are very
proud of the students and staff at Green Mountain. Our strong
partnership with our parents and community, targeted instruction to
assessed needs, and hard work on the part of everyone resulted in this
achievement. We are blessed to be in a community where education is
supported. Children realize obtaining a good education is very important
and achieve accordingly.”
Teacher Nancy Murry whose seventh grade class was
singled out for 100% achievement on the WASL in Reading
and Mathematics, noted that earning the award is a “testimony to the
hard work of our students and teachers as well as the parents who
support them.”
Additional information on the award program, and a list of all Schools of Distinction, can be found on the OSPI Web site at www.k12.wa.us.
